Does anyone know how to strip the black coating out of the vintage club cookware?

I have some vintage club cookware, that I just recently found at a yard sale. A few of the pieces do not have the black coating on the inside, but some of them do. I would like to strip the coating but have no ideal how to do this. Please help if you have any suggestions.

  1. MikeG says:

The black coating is aluminum oxide. Throw those pots away. Aluminum is a terrible material to cook with. Although highly conductive, it tends to darken foods especially food with a high acid content. Instead invest in high quality stainless steel cookware.
