How does one test for lead or aluminum in cookware?

I have a super maid cookware pan from around 1930-ish and I wanted to know if there were any simple tests I could use to figure out its chemical compostion. I left my mass spectrometer and chromotagrophy equipment at my friends so thats not possible for the moment.

  1. JoseEnrique says:

Carefully add a few drops of pool acid (Muriatic Acid). It is its Aluminum.. you will notice it eats away the cookware.

Bee very careful when doing this.
